Jose Mourinho has set his mind on a move for his former star Willian, who looks set to leave Chelsea, according to The Express.

The Brazilian has struggled for game time of late, with Eden Hazard and Pedro often being chosen instead. As a result, he looks set to bring an end to his time at Stamford Bridge, in order to avoid spending the latter days of his career warming the bench.

However, despite being 29, he is not short of potential suitors by any means. Manchester United, the primary candidates for his signature, have been desperate to sign a winger in recent times, but have failed with several attempts to procure quality talent in the position.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho, who worked with Willian in his second spell as Chelsea boss, is a huge admirer of the midfielder. Hence, if the Blues do decide to let go of him, the Brazilian’s former manager will be keen to welcome him to Old Trafford with open arms.

However, a number of clubs in the Chinese Super League have also shown interest in the wide-man, and the Stamford Bridge club would naturally see that as the more appealing option, having realized what a big mistake selling Nemanja Matic to their fierce rivals was.

Selling Willian should open the door for fellow Brazilian Lucas Moura to walk in as his replacement. The 25-year-old is struggling for game time with Paris Saint-Germain, and Antonio Conte looks interested in bringing him in and making him a regular starter for Chelsea.
