Manchester United have agreed on a move for Tottenham Hotspur central defender Toby Alderweireld, but reports state that the London club will only sanction the deal once they find an able replacement.
With the transfer window set to shut down on Thursday, time is the most essential factor here, and both clubs are expected to find a way through on deadline day.
The two Premier League clubs have been negotiating for the Belgian defender since quite some time now, but an agreement has failed to materialise.
But now, the Manchester club seems to have finally gotten Spurs chairman Daniel Levy to agree on a move.

According to a report in Goal, the Red Devils aren’t going to solely depend on Alderweireld, and will continue to monitor other options, in any case the move for the 29-year-old fails.

There is every chance that Spurs could move out of the deal late on Thursday, and United do not want to jeopardise their position by relying on just one plan.
The Mancunian giants are said to have opened talks with Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng. Some reports claim a last minute bid for Harry Maguire could also be on the cards.

Leicester City aren’t looking to sell Maguire, however, and if they do, the Foxes are likely to demand a record-breaking transfer fee.
The deal for Boateng looks to be a fair one at the moment, but it remains to be seen whether the English club can get a move done in time for the German star.
