The future of Man Utd will be heavily impacted by Jose Mourinho’s transfer endeavors over the window to come.
While it goes without saying that the players he will purchase will have a big impact on settling areas where they are subpar, clearing names from the roster will also be of great importance.
A host of names have been linked with exits, including big players like Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba. However, Mourinho has denied an intention to sell in only one case.
With reports doing the round that defensive duo Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind were given marching orders to depart the club, the Portuguese gaffer was quizzed as to whether there was any truth to them.

To this question, Jose aptly responded: “They are part of my plans. No [I’m not going to let them go]. I think when a player wants to go, if that’s the case and the right offers arrive in the club, we study that, because we always try to have the players happy.”

However, he also stated: “So if happiness means for them to leave, let’s see what happens, but they are in my plans. I don’t want to sell [them], I want to keep [them].”
This has led Tuttosport to believe that there is a possibility that Darmian could still leave the Red Devils. In fact, the source claimed that the Italian’s transfer to Juventus is 90% done.
Incidentally, the same source happened to start this link, and they quite adamant in their stance that the Serie A giants had secured the 28-year-old’s services prior to the window opening.
Now a shadow of doubt looms over the possibility, but United’s own opinion seems very much in favor of retaining the player. Darmian was granted a rare start during their weekend 1-0 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion.
